DIGITAL

Driving your Transformation Success

As we progress into the 21st century, companies are using technology to transform their operations, respond more quickly to customer demands and enable new business models. Digital Transformation (DX) has become inevitable.  This wave of digital technologies is triggering the fourth Industrial Revolution and resulting in Industry 4.0 which is a global trend that will impact on the skills required.

Anything from a lack of vision to a lack of skills can doom your digital transformation and Industry 4.0 efforts. Success Builders International is geared to become your strategic DX partner to assist you in navigating and circumventing these pitfalls.

Organisations that fully embrace transformation as a shift in corporate mindset as well as a technology shift are the ones that are the most successful. SBI assists in achieving the mindset and technology shifts that underpin DX success.

A mistake that companies make is to launch a DX effort without having the appropriate skills in-house. For DX success, there is a need to focus on retraining and upskilling the current workforce. SBI’s DIGITAL training offering helps to bridge this skills gap and achieve your upskilling efforts.

Backdrop to SBI’s Digital Transformation
and Industry 4.0 Courses

The demands and business contexts of 2020 and beyond, are to digitally enable a fully mobile and connected society and to empower socio-economic transformations in countless ways, many of which are unimagined today, including those for productivity, sustainability and well-being.

The IDC (International Data Corporation) have identified Cloud, Social, Mobile and Big Data as the 4 pillars of digital transformation. These combined with the technology innovations of Internet of things (IoT), Security, Cognitive/AI Systems, 3D printing, Robotics, Augmented and Virtual Reality are the influencing forces behind any transformation endeavour. These digital technologies are resulting in the fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Industry 4.0 refers to a major industrial era which utilises amongst others, IoT, cloud computing, mobile technology and big data for production.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is evolving at an exponential rather than a linear pace. Moreover, it is disrupting almost every industry in every country. The breadth and depth of these changes herald the transformation of entire systems of production, management, and governance.

Many companies are grappling with how to upskill their current workforce to take on new work responsibilities made possible by DX and Industry 4.0 and to recruit new employees with the right skills.

In context of South Africa, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, deputy minister in the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services (DTPS) has said that government has committed to train a million young people between 2019 and 2030 to become data scientists. In addition, Science and technology minister Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane has said that South Africa will now follow a new roadmap for science and technology, after Cabinet approved the new 2019 White Paper on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). Cabinet says with the advent of Industry 4.0, the 2019 White Paper on STI will position the country to take advantage of rapid technological advancements. It is with this backdrop in mind that the SBI Digital courses have been designed.

To build this needed talent, skills from traditional SAQA Qualifications need to be supplemented by leading edge, industry specific digital skills and recognised international industry certifications. These international industry certification skills development endeavours align with the demands of the future digital age, so as to deliver the knowledge and capabilities needed for growth, employment and participation in the modern business and society. The SBI learning tracks are designed to build these capabilities in different contexts.
